DigHealth – Micro-credentials in Digital Health for Ethiopia and Somalia

DigHealth (Micro-credentials in Digital Health for Ethiopia and Somalia) is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project co-funded by the European Union. The project aims to support the modernization of higher education and healthcare systems in Ethiopia and Somalia by promoting digital health education, strengthening institutional capacity, and developing innovative learning opportunities in the field of digital healthcare.

The project addresses the growing need for digitally skilled healthcare professionals by introducing flexible micro-credential programmes, improving university curricula, and enhancing the capacity of higher education institutions to deliver high-quality digital health training. Through the integration of technologies such as e-health, telemedicine, and digital learning approaches, DigHealth contributes to improving healthcare education, research, and innovation in the partner countries.

By bringing together universities, research institutions, and organizations from Europe, Ethiopia, and Somalia, DigHealth creates a strong international collaboration platform for knowledge exchange, curriculum development, staff training, and sustainable digital transformation in healthcare education. The project supports partner institutions in aligning their programmes with international standards while responding to local healthcare challenges and workforce needs.
